The UCONN Solid Ground Urban Farmer Training Program

In Partnership with The UCONN Solid Ground Urban Farmer Training Program featuring Lauren Little Edutainment and the "I Got Next Urban Farmer Coalition" provided CT farmers with a full day of hands on workshops on urban growing!

Lauren Little Edutainment collaborated with fellow farmers to provide 6 all-day Urban Farm training to new farmers in Bridgeport, New Haven, and Hartford, CT. The local non profit partners are Keney Park Sustainability Project in Hartford, Green Village Initiative in Bridgeport, and Common Ground in New Haven.

Each Urban Farming training session aims to reach anyone with 10 years or less of farming experience, including aspiring farmers in urban areas of Connecticut. Topics includes Compost, Land access, Value Added Products, Soil Amendments, and Plant Health. The instructional approach supports a peer to peer learning environment that creates a safe space for learning. At the completion of these training sessions, participants have a deep understanding of Urban Farming!
